IIFMight in Focus - A Treasure Trove of Inspiration

Since July 2020, every week, the Team IIFMight volunteers have had the privilege of engaging with our IIFM alumni and learning from their experiences while showcasing their inspiring journeys in the IIFMight in Focus series. With 309 alumni profiled, countless memories and nostalgia have been triggered. This in itself is a great achievement and a rewarding outcome for a group of IIFMights who dedicated a few hours each week to make it happen. However, an overarching goal drove us week after week: to contribute, in whatever small way, to building Brand IIFM. We believed that giving the IIFM community wider visibility beyond our own circles would attract passionate young talent to join us as students, and ensuring that key stakeholders know about our alumni success stories would add even more shine to Brand IIFM.

As I write this on behalf of Team IIFMight, we realize that we now have a sufficient number of alumni journeys to provide a comprehensive overview of the IIFM alumni world, and it is time to pause and reflect on our “Build Brand IIFM” initiative. Therefore, we have concluded the IIFMight in Focus series with the profile of Debasish Mishra (MD and CEO of SBI Mutual Fund). While this series successfully brought many alumni together and helped us know them better, the current IIFM ecosystem is much more vibrant than when we began. With a very active IIFM Alumni Association, our alumni newsletter Alma Mater, and numerous alumni WhatsApp groups, reaching out and connecting has never been easier.

On behalf of Team IIFMight, we thank all the alumni who took the time to share their journeys with the larger IIFM family and inspired us with their insights and stories. We also extend our gratitude to all the alumni who encouraged us, and often acknowledged and appreciated the team members, throughout this initiative. Currently, Team IIFMight is working on new ideas and initiatives to: a) make IIFM more widely known among prospective students, and b) support IIFM students with their placements. As we are still shaping these ideas, your suggestions and guidance are highly welcome.

Meanwhile, we have revamped the IIFMight.com website, both aesthetically and functionally. We have archived all the alumni profiles there, making them easy to explore. Additionally, we reviewed all the profiles to create a gallery of pictures from these journeys, and we compiled The Bookshelf, a list of all the books recommended by various alumni. Furthermore, we are building a gallery of IIFM campus pictures. We would love to host photos from the early days to showcase how IIFM has evolved over the years, so please do share your pictures with us. We are still in the process of fine-tuning the new website, so please bear with us as it remains a work in progress.
